Mayor's "State of the City" Clip

Below the mayor is quoted:

"While we have done a lot of good work in our city, we have a lot more work to do. As we work to better understand the racial disparities that exist in our city, it is important that we look back and that we learn from our past. So to kick off what I am going to be calling the Mayor's Book of the Year, I can think of no better book than the book A City within a City by Todd E. Robinson."

"This book if you haven't read it leaves [...] a story of significant events along with the many people who have played a key role in the black freedom struggle that occurred in our city. It provides a historical framework to help us learn from our past and appreciate the context of our current state, and it provides hope for our future. I invite all of you to read this book and to join me in a broader dialogue about our history."

"Shared experiences bring us together."
