Congratulations to Dr. Sharon Young. Dr. Young was a very active UNLV anthropology graduate student, past GPSA President, and worked at the Office of Undergraduate Research. 

Dr. Sharon Young will be joining the anthropology program in the School of Social Science and Global Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi as an assistant professor in fall 2021. Dr. Young completed her PhD in anthropology at UNLV in 2016 with an emphasis in medical anthropology. Her research focuses on maternal health with much of her work aimed at understanding beliefs about and health implications of human maternal placentophagy.
