Dr. Manoucheka Celeste Wins UNLV Faculty International Development Award

Dr. Manoucheka Celeste received the Faculty International Development Award at the April 17 Academic Achievement Gala. Celeste is an assistant professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies in Interdisciplinary Degree Programs. Her research focuses on representations of blackness and citizenship in media. She has published research on portrayals of Haiti and Cuba, black immigrants, Beyoncé and black womanhood, and women of color in academia. The award, through the Office of International Programs, supports travel and language courses related to teaching and research. Celeste will participate in the Pau, France program this summer.
