UNLV President Neal Smatresk and Executive Vice President and Provost John White announce that Dr. Brent A. Hathaway has accepted UNLV’s offer to become the Dean of the Lee Business School, effective October 1, 2013. Dr. Hathaway has served as the dean of the College of Business at the University of Wyoming since 2004.
In recent years, Dr. Hathaway has authored dozens of reports on economic conditions throughout the country. He has also been significantly involved in research and service in the local communities where he has lived and taught, reflecting his dedication to university – community engagement.
Dr. Hathaway earned his M.A. degree from Purdue University, and his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Dr. Hathaway has held previous leadership positions in academe at the University of Illinois as well as Purdue University. He comes to the Lee Business School deanship with significant corporate experience as well, having worked for Honeywell International, Case Corporation, PRISM Consulting, and AGTEK Development.
Dr. Hathaway succeeds Dr. Percy Poon, who has served as interim dean of the Lee Business School since July 2012.
