Dr. Batson's research on the fertility patterns of Mexican women in the United States was recently published in Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences. Her research examines the differences in first-birth timing among immigrant and native-born Mexican women and how these nativity differences have changed over time between two birth cohorts. The paper, "Contemporary Fertility Patterns and First-Birth Timing among Mexican-Origin Women uses the 1998, 1995, and 2002 waves of the National Survey of Family Growth.
