December 6 , 2019 video recap - MFA Open Studios, BFA Closing Reception, Commodified Art Exhibit Opening.

Dec. 18, 2019

The UNLV MFA Open Studios event on December 6 afforded the community the chance to meet the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) candidates and visit their studios to see their most recent work. The annual Open Studios event is an opportunity to engage with the MFA candidates in Art and experience works in video, installation, painting, performance, collage, sculpture and photography. The artists are exploring a wide range of contemporary themes and conceptual concerns including sports, gender and the body, the environment, indigenous cultures, and more.

The MFA Open Studios coincided with two other art events on campus: the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Student Midway exhibition closing reception at Grant Hall Gallery; and the Opening Reception for the Commodified exhibition at the Graduate Art Studios. All events were free and open to the public.
