Deborah Kuhls, M.D.
Dr. Deborah Kuhls, recently named president of the Clark County Medical Society, was honored by Nevada Business Magazine as a Healthcare Hero in the Physician category. She also recently won a Top Doctors 2020 award from Nevada Public Radio’s Desert Companion magazine in the Surgery classification.
Assistant Dean of Research at the UNLV School of Medicine, Kuhls is also a professor of surgery, program director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program, and medical director of the UMC Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Kuhls, who’s literally held patients’ hearts in her hands as she’s worked to stop the bleeding from auto accidents and gunfire, has volunteered in organizations that have included the Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence. In 2019, she was awarded the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Contribution to the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
