Oct. 26, 2017

The College of Liberal Arts celebrated its rich history and contributions to UNLV at the 60th Anniversary Reunion on Oct. 20. More than 100 alumni, donors, faculty and staff, and friends of the college attended the event in the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. Featured speakers were: Dean Chris Heavey, Alumnus of the Year Herb Santos, Beverly Rogers, former Dean Tom Wright, Congresswoman Dina Titus, Michael Saltman, and anthropology doctoral student Daniel Perez.

"There were no colleges when UNLV began 60 years ago, but our disciplines were there at the beginning, and our role as the central core of UNLV has only grown over the ensuing decades," Heavey said. "We understand that all of us who work in the college today stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. We honor the legacy you created as we work to continue to build the positive impact of the College of Liberal Arts."
