Clery Act notice: Confirmed case of COVID-19 on Shadow Lane campus

Aug. 28, 2020

Dear University Community,

UNLV was informed this afternoon that an individual on the Shadow Lane campus has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last on campus Aug. 24, was tested on Aug. 26 and was confirmed as positive for COVID-19 today, Aug. 28. The individual is following protocols set by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

When an individual is confirmed to have COVID-19, SNHD, with the support of the UNLV School of Public Health, determines who they may have had close contact with and guidance is provided directly to those individuals. Close contacts are defined as being within six feet of someone with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes.

We know that COVID-19 is present in our community. To slow the spread of COVID-19, all students, faculty and staff must follow on-campus health requirements.

UNLV continues to post updates, health resources, operation information, confirmed cases and important announcements at unlv.edu/coronavirus.

We will continue to monitor the situation and share information specific to UNLV through official channels, including unlv.edu/coronavirus. Information about subsequent confirmed COVID-19 cases will be posted at unlv.edu/coronavirus/confirmed-cases. This notification complies with requirements under the Clery Act.

Your health and wellbeing remain our top priority. The actions each of us take can help to stop the spread of COVID-19 at UNLV and in our community. Thank you for your commitment to protecting yourself and others.

Sincerely,
