Campus Parking Update

As we approach the start of Summer Session III and limited in-person instruction, we would like to provide you with some updates on campus parking. Please see below:

Permit Enforcement

  • Permits will not be required during Summer Session III. However, we will begin limited enforcement for reserved and handicapped spaces, fire lanes, and other no parking zones. Please be mindful of these areas.
  • Full parking enforcement will resume on August 17. 
    • We will send an email to permit holders on or around August 1 with information about purchasing fall permits. 
    • Fall permits will go on sale Monday, August 3.

Tropicana Parking Garage Closure

  • The drive-thru COVID-19 testing site at UNLV’s Tropicana Parking Garage will continue to operate through July 31. To accommodate test site visitors, the Tropicana Garage will remain closed to students and employees until further notice. 
    • Students and employees coming to campus during Summer Session III should consider the following information and alternative parking locations:

Refunds

  • We are currently processing prorated refunds for the 2019 - 2020 academic year.
  • Student refund requests submitted before June 1 are complete.
  • Student refund requests submitted after June 1 will be completed in 6-8 weeks.
  • Refunds for faculty / staff who purchased their permits outright are being processed. Customers should receive their refund checks in the mail within 6-8 weeks.
    • Faculty / staff do not need to return their permit to receive their refund.
  • Payroll deductions for the 2019 - 2020 academic year were stopped on April 1.
  • Faculty / staff can request to resume payroll deduction for the 2020 - 2021 academic year online or in-person at the Parking and Transportation Services office.
