Call for Proposals: Faculty Opportunity Awards Deadline Jan. 30

Nov. 20, 2014

The Division of Research and Economic Development invites UNLV faculty to submit proposals for the Faculty Opportunity Awards (FOA).

The FOA program provides internal support for development of research with potential for continued funding by extramural funding agencies, private foundations, or industry.  It also supports projects to develop new intellectual property.

The 2015 call for proposals is limited to full-time faculty and will provide short-term (12-18 months), non-renewable funding for projects in three categories:

  • Individual Investigator Award
  • Innovation/Technology Development Award
  • Collaborative Interdisciplinary Research Award

Awards will have maximum budgets of $20,000 - $100,000 each, depending on the award type, projects goals, and necessary budget.

The deadline for proposal submission is Jan. 30, 2015. Additional details on how to apply for these awards are available on the Faculty Opportunity Awards website. Brown bag lunch information sessions are scheduled from noon-1 pm. on Dec. 1 and 2 in SU 209, and  Dec. 10 and 11 in SU 208A.
