A Beauteous Tree: Margaret Fuller’s Femality
Saturday, June 19, 2021, 12 - 3 PM
Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art
We’re celebrating our new exhibition, A Beauteous Tree: Margaret Fuller’s Femality, with a free drawing workshop that asks you to show us what you would look like if you could manifest yourself as a tree. Paper, pencils, and other drawing materials will be provided. Some of the Beauteous Tree artists will be here in our Work Shop Gallery at the start of the session to talk to us about the personal stories behind the “tree self-portraits” they created for the show. This all-ages event runs from 12 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 19. Parking on campus at this time will be free.
Support for this exhibition is provided by the UNLV Jean Nidetch CARE Center, a Nevada Humanities Project Grant, The National Endowment for the Humanities, and the WESTAF Regional Arts Resilience Fund, a relief grant developed in partnership with The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support arts organizations in the 13-state western region during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is located in the heart of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. The museum is easily accessed from the west side of campus at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and University Center Drive. Drive east on East Harmon Ave until the road enters the campus and terminates in a parking lot. The Museum will be on your right, next to a desert landscape garden. Directions here.
Parking is free in all staff, student, and metered parking on this day.
