Tod Fitzpatrick, professor of music and associate director of the School of Music, has been selected to serve as the senior advisor to President Marta Meana beginning on Sept. 1. In addition to his impressive accomplishments as a vocalist and voice educator, Dr. Fitzpatrick, has a wealth of university-wide administrative service experience,  including being a member of the College of Fine Arts Executive Committee, Senior Faculty Senator from the College of Fine Arts, a member of the Ombuds Panel, and a member of the university committee reviewing criteria for promotion and tenure. He has been particularly invested in initiatives that focus on faculty communication and well-being. This summer he participated in the ADVANCE initiative's summer seminar on institutional equity and the combating of implicit biases on campus. Dr. Fitzpatrick routinely collaborates with entities across campus in planning events that include music, such as the UNLV Foundation Dinner and UNLV Commencement.

Dr. Fitzpatrick will serve as President Meana's liaison to faculty and will work closely with administration, supporting the president’s commitment to shared governance and the implementation of university initiatives focused on faculty and students. He was selected from a host of outstanding candidates who demonstrated broad institutional knowledge and substantial records of service to UNLV.

Congratulations to Dr. Fitzpatrick!
