Nevada Statewide Mental Health Workforce Development Forum
October 7, 2016, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
Greenspun Hall Auditorium, University of Nevada Las Vegas
Nevada continues to experience challenges in its behavioral health system, particularly regarding access to mental health services, and a shortage of skilled professionals to meet the needs of the population. The Lincy Institute, along with several partners, will host a statewide mental health workforce development forum on October 7, 2016 in the Greenspun Auditorium at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The forum will be streamed live to viewing sites around the state:
- Elko, NV: Great Basin College - Greenhaw Technical Arts Center, Room 130
- Reno, NV: University of Nevada, Reno campus - William Raggio Building, Room 2023
- Carson City, NV: Western Nevada College, Reynolds Building, Room 103
The event will include two panels comprised of various stakeholders across the state and representatives of the mental health licensing boards; two national speakers describing mental health workforce development initiatives across the country; and a guided solution-based discussion on strategies to develop a mental health workforce development plan for the state of Nevada. There will be opportunities for attendees at the main event and remote viewing sites to participate in the panel discussions.
