Construction and Roadwork

Cottage Grove Avenue Construction Update: July 17, 2019

Southwest Gas will replace the existing main that runs in the middle of Cottage Grove Avenue on the south side of the road, from about 200 feet west of Maryland Parkway to Fairfax Circle. The utility will replace several gas mains for the apartments north of Cottage Grove, and several service lines along Cottage Grove just west of the main replacement.

A Clark County approved traffic control plan is in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews work. Southwest Gas has notified area residents of the upcoming work, and has coordinated with several owners and residents for easements.

The work is expected to be complete within the next four months.

Southwest Gas also is installing new gas lines along Cottage Grove from west of the Cottage Grove garage past Claymont Street to the UNLV Early Childhood Education Center. The utility has its own traffic control plan and flag persons directing traffic. This work is expected to be complete within the next three months. This project is unrelated to the UNLV Cottage Grove Avenue construction project.
