Battle Born Girls Innovate

Battle Born Girls Innovate (BBGI) introduces young women to Southern Nevada’s science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) careers, demystifies success in these fields, and provides an outlet for them to engage with role models and leaders from the community. Under-resourced middle school girls participate in interactive sessions and hands-on activities led by local, prominent figures from UNLV and Nevada-based technology companies. Learning focuses on: game design and development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and STEAM. We hope BBGI will encourage young women to pursue careers in STEAM fields and provide them with a support network of industry mentors and ambitious, like-minded peers to help them succeed throughout their education and beyond.

“There’s not a lot of women in these types of industries, so things like this can empower us and uplift us...I can see how people would enjoy being in this industry and maybe I (will too) someday.”
