The Center’s Academic Council consists of internationally renowned researchers who have published in relevant fields. The Council makes final academic decisions on matters such as research topics, research funding, and the peer review process for all research reports.
In addition to the standard academic policies present in elite research university settings (e.g., reviews by the university’s Office of Sponsored Programs and Human Subjects committee), the Center’s Academic Council is solely responsible for deciding which research projects will be funded and establishing how peer reviews are conducted. Funders will only see results of Center research when they are published in final form. In addition, both the Advisory Board and the Academic Council conducts periodic reviews of all teaching materials to ensure that they represent the most well-established and objective curricula available.
