UNLV Men of Color Alliance (MOCA)

Housing & Residential Life embodies UNLV's different, daring, and diverse values with intentional outreach and initiatives.

Founded in 2017, in partnership with Student Diversity and Social Justice, the Men of Color Alliance (MOCA) offers affinity spaces for students to meet up in various settings and challenge negative stereotypes about men of color. Outreach for MOCA centers the holistic needs for men of color including: Native American, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, Black, and Multi-racial identities. Our mission is below:

The UNLV Men of Color Alliance is intended to celebrate, educate, and rejuvenate our men of color at UNLV. Our goal is to bridge the attrition gap within these demographics while addressing permeating and systemic issues that challenge our men of color today.

MOCA hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year:

  • Study Sessions
  • Archery
  • Yoga
  • Tennis Lessons
  • Bowling
  • Nature Hikes
  • Performing Arts Events
  • Annual Road Trip & Leadership Retreat
