Eta Sigma Delta (ESD) is the only International Hospitality Honors Society. ESD was founded in 1978 and has grown to over 90 active chapters worldwide. Juniors, seniors, and graduate students who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher are encouraged to join. ESD gives members the opportunity to stand out to industry executives. We host events that include networking and building connections with industry professionals throughout the year for our members.
What is Eta Sigma Delta?
Eta Sigma Delta is the only international honor society that recognizes excellence performance of hospitality students in academics, professionalism and service to the community. Eta Sigma Delta has over 90 chapters around the world. Our chapter focuses on helping students grow their network among peers and other chapters globally. Students will gain knowledge by working on projects directly with industry leaders and by participating in community service!
Who's Eligible?
Any student that meets the following requirement is eligible to join Eta Sigma Delta.
- Must have declared hospitality as a his/her major
- Must have at least 50% of the credits completed for graduation
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
How to Join?
UNLV students can join Eta Sigma Delta through a one time membership fee of $50. All students who qualify are encouraged to apply. You may view the application online. Applications can be submitted to etasigmadeltaunlv@gmail.com.

Events
Throughout the academic year, ESD hosts events for members, such as Breaking Barriers, Dine with Alumni, Social Study with ESD, and an Initiation Ceremony. Some events are open to all students within the hospitality college, such as ESD Talks. All of our events include networking with industry professionals and fellow student leaders.
