Kurt Ouchida

BRAINtrust Marketing + Communication managing partner Kurt Ouchida has been a trusted advisor and consultant to countless CEOs and business owners, including senior executives at Fortune 100 companies. Prior to forming BRAINtrust Marketing, Kurt served as VP of communications for seven years at Las Vegas Sands, Inc. where he directed all public relations and marketing activities for the gaming company. During his tenure, he oversaw the successful opening of The Venetian Resort Casino and the Guggenheim Las Vegas, both resulting in unprecedented PR results.

As a 23-year communications veteran, Kurt has experienced his fair share of “on-the-job” crises where hotel guest perceptions, public safety, corporate reputations, jobs, lives and revenues were at stake. To that end, he has provided strategic media relations for a “tainted” blood supply, construction accidents, union protests, airborne contaminations, hotel closures, hostile corporate takeovers, and celebrity scandals.

A top communications strategist, Kurt has created award-winning PR and marketing campaigns and has received PRSA’s and IABC’s top honors. He has produced advertising campaigns that have earned Telly and Addy Awards. When it comes to public and media relations, Kurt has developed a solid reputation with members of the media. He has been recognized by Travel Agent magazine as a “Rising Star” and was named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” business executives by In Business magazine and is a graduate of the Leadership Henderson Class of 2012.

As co-owner of BRAINtrust Marketing + Communications, which he formed with Michael Coldwell in 2006, he has helped build a company from "two guys with a laptop" to the fifth largest advertising agency in Nevada. The agency has been recognized as the "Best Places to Work" by Vegas Inc, "Nevada Entrepreneurs of the Year" also by Vegas Inc., and "Top Minority-Owned Business" by the Las Vegas Business Press.

He has completed studies for a master’s degree in Communications (UNLV) and received a bachelor’s degree with a triple major in Rhetoric & Communications, English and Psychology (UC Davis) – a marketing trifecta ;)... Kurt is involved in numerous local and national charities including the Henderson Boys & Girls Club, Japanese American Citizens League, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southern Nevada, SHARE, and the Henderson Community Foundation. He is married to Robyn Campbell (UNLV, M.A. 2000) and together they have two young children. In his spare time, he participates in competitive triathlons.
