Honors Wellness Activities

REAL TALK – If you want to succeed academically, you’ve got to take care of yourself physically and emotionally. We believe that fitness, friendships, and fun are key aspects of a satisfying collegiate experience.

But we know it’s easy to overlook personal wellness with the slew of demands from classes, work, and other responsibilities. That’s why the HC offers some exclusive opportunities to stay active with likeminded Honors students.

Saturday Workouts

Saturday Workouts

Students from the HC get together every Saturday morning during the semester for boot-camp-style workouts. It’s a great way to get in shape with some great people! Each week, we rotate locations between campus, Red Rock Canyon, and local parks. All Honors students are welcome.

For more information on times and locations for upcoming training sessions, email Daniel Coyle in the HC.

Honors PEX Course

Honors PEX Course

Each semester, UNLV offers a variety of credit-bearing PEX Courses — everything from yoga to tennis, to back country camping. To foster camaraderie in our tight-knit Honors community, we created a one-credit, honors-only PEX course: Obstacle Course Training. Those interested in running Tough Mudder with the Honors Rebellion will find this to be the perfect training ground. Students of all fitness levels are welcome. The class is all about building camaraderie, keeping physically fit, and having fun; it’s not about competition.

  • Check out this PEX 182 flyer for more details on the Fall 2015 courses.
  • Email Daniel Coyle in the HC if you want to sign up.
Honors Rebellion Tough Mudder Team

Honors Rebellion — Tough Mudder Team!

That’s right, Honors College runs Tough Mudder — a hardcore, 11-mile obstacle course which tests all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Our team, the Honors Rebellion, trains together, bleeds together, and overcomes together. It’s amazing what enduring extreme obstacles — freezing water, dangling electrical wires, 12-foot walls, and pits of mud — can do to form lasting friendships and make you feel more alive.

Intramural Teams

Intramural Teams

The Honors Student Council (HSC) sponsors intramural teams each semester in a growing number of sports. If you’re interested in playing on a team or starting a new one, please get in touch with a member of HSC.
