Research Forum
The 26th Annual Graduate and Professional Student Research Forum will be hosted on April 6th, 2024, by the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) and the Graduate College. Each spring semester, this event showcases the excellence in research conducted at the graduate student level.
About the GPSA Annual Student Research Forum
Throughout the year, the GPSA awards research and travel grants to students to support projects that directly affect their degree program and contribute to their discipline (GPSA Sponsorship Awards*). In 2021-2022, $175,000 was budgeted to support graduate and professional student research and conference travel via our sponsorship fund. The Annual Research Forum is an opportunity for students to share their GPSA sponsored work with the UNLV community. Of course, this Forum is open to all graduate and professional students wishing to share their research and creative expressions, practice their presentation skills, or obtain constructive comments on their work from faculty.
*Participation in the Annual Research Forum is a requirement for students who received GPSA funding during the 2022-2023 academic year.

Student Presentation Options
The Forum provides an excellent professional development opportunity for graduate students to share their research with a broad audience of faculty, other graduate students, undergraduates, and members of the larger community. The 2023 Annual Research Forum has adopted an in-person format.
There are three session types this year:
- 10-minute “podium” presentation, such as a slideshow.
- 5-minute poster presentation.
- 5-minute creative expression presentation.
Sessions will have student poster presentations starting at 9 a.m. on April 6, 2024. All posters must be turned in to the Graduate Student Commons (LLB 2141) by 8 p.m. on April 4, 2024.
Poster Presentations
Posters must be 48"x36". To help students offset the costs of presenting research, GPSA is offering complimentary poster printing this year. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must submit your poster PDF via our Poster Printout Request Form by April 1, 2024, at 5 p.m. Otherwise, you are responsible for printing your 48"x36" poster at your own cost. All posters must be turned into the Graduate Commons, LLB 2141, on the second floor of Lied Library no later than April 4, 2024, by 8 p.m.
These deadlines cannot be extended. The GPSA will contact you with details about your specific session once we have finalized the poster and podium schedules.
Poster Printing
Poster formatting help documents are available on the Research Forum website under “Related Links”. Students looking to present in person are encouraged to reach out to their department about funds or resources to print their posters. Poster printing is available in the Lied Library (see Circulation) and the Student Union (see the Information Desk).
Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony begins at the conclusion of the Research Forum on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend the Awards Ceremony. See the Awards Ceremony page for more details.
