Writing Abstracts for Professional Conferences and Publications

Mar. 10, 2021, 10am to 11:15am

Office/Remote Location

Across many disciplines, the abstract is the first introduction to your research when attending conferences and submitting your manuscript for publication. The fact alone makes the abstract one of the most salient parts of your research paper. In this workshop, students will learn how to approach abstract writing, the types of abstracts that are prominent in specific disciplines, and which type of information to include in your abstract.

Learning Objectives: By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Learn the contents of an abstract
  • Learn the types of abstract that are commonly used in various fields
  • Understand how the abstract can impact the success or failure of your research manuscript

  • Dr. Levent Atici, Executive Director, Office of Undergraduate Research
