Are you interested in a career in academia? Do you have questions about the transition from a master’s program to a doctoral program? Are you thinking about postdoctoral scholar positions after you complete a doctoral program?  This workshop addresses questions related to pursuing a career in academia, starting as a doctoral student, to accepting a postdoctoral scholar position, and to becoming a faculty member.

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Better understand how to prepare yourself for the transition from a master’s program to a doctoral program

  • Learn strategies to continue professional development as a doctoral student, postdoctoral scholar, and faculty member

  • Learn tips for finding mentors as a doctoral student, postdoctoral scholar, and faculty member

  • Learn tips and tricks for work-life balance
