This workshop will help faculty and graduate students who want to start or increase their use of Twitter in order to connect with colleagues, share their work, and learn more about the scholarly conversation happening in their subject area. No previous Twitter experience is necessary, but participants should already have a Twitter account created and bring a smart device with the Twitter app installed in order to participate in this hands-on workshop.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify the role Twitter will have in their academic life and create a Twitter profile, pinned tweet, and engagement plan that maximizes the desired role.
  • Find and follow colleagues and hashtags in their field.
  • Utilize tools like Twitter Analytics and social media management platforms in order to boost Twitter presence and engagement.

Facilitator: Brittany Paloma Fiedler, Teaching & Learning Librarian
