Wilderness and Remote First Aid Training
If you were several hours away from medical help and something happened to you or your family, would you know what to do? American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid training is different from more traditional emergency medical and first aid training in that the emphasis is on how the body works; what happens to it when it has been injured or is ill; and the basic principles behind treatment. By truly understanding basic physiology, the principles of emergency response, long-term patient care, and equipment improvisation, you will be more prepared to deal with non-textbook problems.
This two day training will be offered Jan. 20 & 21, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Classes will be held at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC). Certification is good for two years.
If you do not currently have a valid CPR certification, you can obtain it during this course for an additional $50. That certification class would take place on the 21st from 5-7pm after the WFA course. Without a valid CPR Certification, the WFA Certification is invalid.
