Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon Event
From Stonewall to Selena: Strengthening the Representation of LGBTQ+ and Latinx Folx in Wikipedia
Inspired by Latinx Heritage Month and Las Vegas LGBTQ+ PRIDE Month, the UNLV University Libraries are hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon focused on Latinx and LGBTQ+ people.
A Wikipedia Edit-a-thon is an event where people come together to help build the world’s most popular online research tool. People of all identities are welcome to participate. It's a great way to do your part to improve Wikipedia with your existing subject knowledge and begin to acquire new skills.
No previous Wikipedia editing experience is necessary; training and resources will be provided. Feel free to bring your own laptop.
RSVP encouraged and snacks will be provided.
If you have questions, please contact Chelsea Heinbach, Teaching and Learning Librarian at chelsea.heinbach@unlv.edu
