Description
UNLV recently formed a partnership with The Conversation U.S., an independent source for informed commentary and analysis, written by academics and delivered directly to the public. All UNLV academic faculty, as well as Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral fellows, are eligible to participate.
To help new authors get started, UNLV and The Conversation U.S. are co-hosting a webinar from 11 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, June 27, which will provide the following:
- Brief explanation of The Conversation U.S. and the value of writing for the public.
- Details on what makes a good story idea or "pitch."
- Examples of pitches that, with refinement, developed into published articles on The Conversation U.S.
- How The Conversation U.S.'s editorial process works from start to finish.
- UNLV faculty contributors sharing their experience on the process from their perspective.
- Q&A.
UNLV participants will be able to tune into the webinar through a computer by visiting https://bluejeans.com/241057446 or by phone by calling in at 408-740-7256.
RSVPs are recommended but not required. To RSVP, please email raegen.pietrucha@unlv.edu.
