We Need To Talk Series on Systemic Racism: Healthcare Disparities

The series, sponsored by UNLV Libraries and the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, will be live-streamed by UNLV TV, on YouTube and UNLV’s social media channels.

The live panel series, “We Need To Talk: Conversations on Racism for a More Resilient Las Vegas,” will return with new episodes starting February 4 in conjunction with Black History Month. The series is sponsored by the UNLV Libraries and the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.

The first episode will air Thursday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. The panel discussion will feature conversations on disparities in access and delivery of health care for people of color. Guests for the conversation Feb. 4 include UNLV President Keith Whitfield, Jose Melendrez, executive director of community partnerships in the UNLV School of Public Health, and Melva Thompson-Robinson, director of the UNLV Center for Health Disparities Research.

All episodes of “We Need To Talk” can be viewed online. New episodes will also stream live on UNLV’s Facebook page.
