Description

Brie Ruais is a ceramic sculptor based in Brooklyn, New York. She received her MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University, School of the Arts in 2011 and her BFA in Studio Art from New York University, Steinhardt School in 2004. Recent exhibitions include Some Things I Know About Being In a Body at the Albertz Benda Gallery in New York City in 2021; Brie Ruais: Movement at the Edge of the Land, curated by Frauke V. Josenhans, Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University, Houston, Texas in 2020; and Spiraling Open and Closed like an Aperture, Solo, Night Gallery, Los Angeles, California in 2019. She was the recipient of the Virginia A. Groot Foundation Award in 2021, Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2018, and many other awards and recognitions.
