Description
Guest artist Dr. Russell Weismann presents a lecture-recital that celebrates the 116th birthday of Rudolf von Beckerath, founder of the Beckerath Orgelbau of Hamburg, Germany. The presentation will focus on the company’s nearly 75-year history of building world-class instruments. You will learn about Beckerath’s ideas of organ design and, through Dr. Weismann’s lecture and playing, how UNLV’s Maurine Jackson Smith Organ is based on and reflects those concepts.
