Description

HACKATHON + MAKING = MAKE-A-THON

The Las Vegas and Boston Hubs of the Global Shapers (an initiative of the World Economic Forum)—in partnership with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the UNLV Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering—present the Las Vegas Make-A-Thon at the UNLV School of Architecture, bringing together art, architecture, business, design, engineering and entrepreneurship students to hack, make and create innovative solutions using programming and rapid prototyping techniques featuring arduino. All making will be done in an open and collaborative studio environment to incubate creative ideas.

This year, the theme will be the future of food.

While the Las Vegas Make-A-Thon events are only open to selected applicants, the final Pitch Competition + Open Exhibition (taking place in the Architecture Studies Library at the Paul B. Sogg Architecture Building) is free and open to the public: UNLV faculty, students, staff, and alumni (as well as community members).

So, please come join us for the final event of the Las Vegas Make-A-Thon where top teams will compete for prizes and recognition at UNLV's first-ever make-a-thon! All teams' proposals and prototypes will also be displayed in a free and open exhibition.
