Description
The UNLV GenCyber Camp is a free cybersecurity camp designed for high school students in Southern Nevada. Our program aims to educate students on safe online behavior, promote digital citizenship, and foster interest in cybersecurity careers. Participants engage in hands-on activities covering various cybersecurity topics and gain insights from industry experts.
Topics will include:
- Cybersecurity Concepts
- Encryption techniques
- Social & personal computer security
- Cybercrimes & protection
- Wireless & mobile security
- Critical infrastructure protection
The camp is offered during a one-day spring camp and a five-day summer camp.
The UNLV GenCyber Camp is coordinated by a diverse team of faculty, staff, and student mentors, led by UNLV GenCyber Camp Director, Professor Juyeon Jo, and Lead Instructor, Professor Yoohwan Kim from the Computer Science department in the College of Engineering.
Price
Thanks to our generous sponsors, the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), the 2025 UNLV GenCyber Camp is offered to participants free of charge.
Admission Information
Apply online - UNLV GenCyber is open to all high school students in Southern Nevada. There is limited space so students are encouraged to apply early. The deadline for applying to both the one-day Spring Camp and the five-day Summer camp is March 24, 2025. While participation is both camps is highly recommended, it is not mandatory. The same application can be used to apply to one or both camps at the same time.
