Program Curriculum

Casino operators and gaming manufacturers have spent a number of years struggling to envision the casino of the future.

Multiple forces have added to the complexity of the challenge: an aging user base, a general disinterest in traditional gambling forms among millennials, integrated resorts leveraging new platforms in iGaming and esports, and the video gamification of terrestrial gaming.

For regulators, the task is equally daunting: How to develop appropriate regulatory structures and statutes for a rapidly changing industry and how to how to cultivate a regulatory workforce proficient in these emerging offerings?

Our session’s agenda will include:

  • Experiential group work with fellow regulatory leaders to assess a real-world UNLV student capstone project recently presented to global gaming operators in Las Vegas: esports in the integrated resort
.
  • Roundtable exercises to identify regulatory solutions to a future-state integrated resort design.

  • An exploration of the business models currently being proposed by operators and developers and what regulatory tools will be necessary to oversee an integrated resort that blends igaming, esports and the casino floor experience.
