The ensembles will perform colorful music from Cuba, Latvia, England, South Africa, Finland, Lithuania, and the United States written from the 1500s to within the last five years, in several languages, textures, and text meanings. The music features different voice colors, from lyrical to dramatic, including works by William Byrd, Jocelyn Hagen, Moses Hogan, Veljo Tormis, Ēriks Ešenvalds, and more.
The UNLV Singers are the top undergraduate choir at UNLV and consists primarily of music majors who audition for a place in the ensemble. The choir performs several concerts per academic year, tours locally every year and internationally every four years. The ensemble will travel to the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany in June of 2023.
The University Chorale is open to all students of every major at the university. Students can enroll in the course for credit or join the ensemble thru the UNLV Involvement Center, where it is a registered student organization. It presents four concerts per year, including serving as host for the annual ORIGINS concert, which celebrates identity through song.
