UNLV Blood Drive
Vitalant encourages all eligible blood donors to give from the heart to help meet an urgent need for patients. In addition to helping save patients’ lives, every blood donor receives a mini-physical checking their pulse and blood pressure and a cholesterol test.
Every day, Vitalant needs to collect about 5,300 donations to be ready for both routine and emergency patient needs including car accidents, cancer treatments, heart transplants and surgery for infants born with heart defects.
All blood types are needed, especially type O blood. Type O negative can be used for any patient, and type O positive is also widely used because it is the most prevalent blood type in the population.
UNLV AED is hosting a blood drive and you are invited to donate blood and help our community. The drive will be held on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bloodmobile.
Please join us to save lives and start a great year!
