Description
The College of Liberal Arts' University Forum lecture series presents "Who Are We and How Do We Heal? Route 91 Inspired Identity Tapestry as a Classroom" a talk by Erika Gisela Abad, Professor of Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies, UNLV.
Mary Corey March’s interactive wall installation, Identity Tapestry (Iteration #12 Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art) (2017), was brought in as a vehicle to reflect on the effects of October 1. Using pictures of how the tapestry developed over time and pulling from visitors’ responses, this lecture will address how/if the Identity Tapestry expanded healing beyond the October 1 tragedy?
