Description

The College of Liberal Arts' University Forum lecture series presents "Scaling Invisible Walls: Social Justice for People of Diverse Genders" a talk by Markie L. C. Twist, Professor, University of Wisconsin-System.

People with transgender identities face discrimination. Most people are unfamiliar with transgender people’s needs and inclusivity practices. Cisgenderism is the ideology that delegitimizes people’s own understanding of their genders. Having an understanding of cisgenderism can reduce discrimination and improve care practices.
