Description

The College of Liberal Arts' University Forum Lecture Series presents "Global Climate Change: What’s Going On?" a talk by Michael G. Pravica, associate professor, UNLV Department of Physics.

Global climate change has been wreaking havoc. Stories of the polar vortex, wildly oscillating/fluctuating temperatures in the Midwest and East Coast, horrific drought in California and flooding in the United Kingdom and Florida have all received wide coverage in the news and have left many perplexed. How can global warming cause cooling? This talk will investigate global climate change from a physicist’s perspective and discuss what we can expect for the future.
