The College of Liberal Arts' University Forum lecture series presents "Constructing the Modern Marimba" a talk by Timothy Jones, Assistant Professor of Percussion, School of Music, UNLV.

A lecture and first public screening of the documentary film following the construction of a concert grand marimba conceived and built by UNLV minds, hands, creativity, and artistry! The film depicts sourcing rosewood from Honduras, hands-on work from our students, performance examples, interviews with world class performers, and a beautiful musical instrument. 

Please arrive early for a pre-lecture reception (starting at 6:30pm). Light refreshments will accompany live music performed on the concert marimba built at UNLV.
