The UNLV Center for Social Justice and The Center of Southern Nevada will be providing a workshop designed to create a safe space for UNLV students to learn about the transgender community.

Guest Speaker - Holly Reese, senior transgender program manager, The Center (LGBTQI Community Center of Southern Nevada)

Some of the goals of the training include:
  1. Present clear, balanced and accurate information about the lives of transgender people.
  2. Educate participants on the discrimination and other issues transgender people face in our society
  3. Provide tools on how participants can support the transgender community and its efforts.

Transgender issues are complex, and new to many people. Therefore, it is imperative that participants understand that other participants will vary in levels of understanding of the topic. This event does not require any previous or advanced skills, knowledge or exposure of the topic to actively participate in the workshop.
