Teach Online: Making a Course Your Own

When

Apr. 27, 2018, 11am to 12:30pm

Office/Remote Location

The Office of Online Education
Room 101

Description

Learn best practices for teaching an online course that someone else developed. Sometimes instructors are assigned to teach a course that was developed by another faculty member or subject matter expert. For many instructors it can be uncomfortable to teach someone else’s course materials. Many online classes have a master course that is specifically designed to ensure student achievement of course learning objectives. Learn how to make a course your own without reinventing wheel or changing the design of a master course.

OBJECTIVES

Instructors completing this workshop will be able to:

  • Employ best practices for teaching a master course
  • Assess the design existing course materials
  • Personalize their delivery of a master course while following an instructor guide.

Admission Information

UNLV faculty and instructors at all levels of experience teaching online are welcome to attend this face-to-face workshop. Please RSVP online.
