Description
- Sunset Snowshoe Hike at Mt. Charleston -
Learn to snowshoe on Mt. Charleston. Our experienced Trip Leaders will guide you through the sparkling white snow and rustling green pines. We'll go where the snow is, so it'll be a surprise where we are hiking!
3 miles roundtrip - Difficulty Level: Moderate
-Hot chocolate & snacks, round-trip transportation and equipment are included in the price of this trip-
Schedule:
- 1:30pm Please meet us in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center in front of the Outdoor Adventure office in the lobby, ready for departure.
- 2:00pm-3:00pm Vans depart. Ride approximately 1 hour to the trailhead.
- 3:00pm-3:30pm Get outfitted with snowshoes and learn the basics.
- 3:30pm-5:30pm Hike until we find a nice place to make hot chocolate. Enjoy snacks and the sunset. Sunset 5:02pm.
- 5:30pm-6:30pm* Drive back to UNLV.
Please wear:
- Shoes that you can hike in, tennis shoes are fine.
- Clothes that you can move comfortably in and that will keep you warm.
- Temperatures on Mt.Charleston during the winter get chilly.
Please bring:
- At least 2 liters of water. Make sure these bottles are full before you leave campus.
- A small backpack to carry your water and snacks in.

Admission Information
This event is open to the public. Registration Due by 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2019.
Registration fee:
- $40 for Students and Members
- $50 for Non-members
Registration includes the completion of the Health History form and the Trip Waiver. Both of these documents require a printed signature.
