SEMINAR: Optical Alignment of Large Telescopes
Based on a telescope's optical design, alignment tolerances, and test constraints, a wide variety of optical alignment aproaches exist. This seminar will present the concept, advantages, and limitations of various alignment techniques, as well as examples of their applications. Example telescope systems: hobby Eberly, Giant Magellan, and James Webb Space Telescopes. An overview of the benefits of student membership in The Optical Society (OSA) will be presented.
Free refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public.
