Description
Based on a telescope's optical design, alignment tolerances, and test constraints, a wide variety of optical alignment aproaches exist. This seminar will present the concept, advantages, and limitations of various alignment techniques, as well as examples of their applications. Example telescope systems: hobby Eberly, Giant Magellan, and James Webb Space Telescopes. An overview of the benefits of student membership in The Optical Society (OSA) will be presented.
