An exploration of the continuities and dialogues among key nineteenth-century opera characters—touching on operas such as Carmen, Lo Schiavo, and Bomarzo—and 1930s popular entertainment icons such as Carmen Miranda, Carlos Gardel, and Agustín Lara.
