Description
The UNLV College of Sciences is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018-19. To commemorate the anniversary, Clemens Heske from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will present a public lecture. His talk is titled, "How a Particle Accelerator Can Help to Make Solar Cells Better." Dr. Heske will give insights into synchrotrons, solar devices, cooperating (and non-cooperating) interfaces, and how all that can be combined to help tackle the global energy challenge.
In 1958, UNLV’s College of Science and Mathematics was formed. The following year, Robert Smith began serving as the founding dean with nearly 500 undergraduate and 41 graduate students enrolled. In Fall 2018, the college had approximately 2,700 undergraduate students and 250 graduate students.
