Office/Remote Location
Description
Sean Neiswenter, assistant professor in residence in the UNLV School of Life Sciences, will speak at an upcoming Science Café Las Vegas. His talk is titled, "RATS! A Tale of Conservation in a Human Modified Landscape."
The Colorado River provides water to tens of millions of people in the southwest for agriculture, recreation, development, and drinking. This has led to it becoming one of the most regulated and modified rivers in the world. Neiswenter will briefly discuss some of the anthropogenic changes that have occurred along the river over the past century and then tell a small tale about the Colorado River cotton rat.
Come join others for a lively science discussion, delicious food, and fun. Come at 6:30 p.m. to order your food and mingle. Those under 21 are welcome.
