Science Café Las Vegas: Anthropologist Brian Villmoare

Office/Remote Location
Description
Brian Villmoare, assistant professor in the UNLV Department of Anthropology, will speak at an upcoming Science Café Las Vegas. His talk is titled, "Hunting Fossil Humans in the Deserts of East Africa."
Prior to 3 million years ago, humans were relatively apelike creatures limited to the forests of Africa, but by 2 million years ago they had acquired large brains, sophisticated tools, organized hunting, and had managed to adapt to environments across Africa, Asia, and Europe. The gap between 3 and 2 million years was largely a blank spot, yet held possibly the most critical information on our evolutionary history. This talk presents our attempt to fill that void.
Come join others for a lively science discussion, delicious food, and fun. Come at 6:30 p.m. to order your food and mingle. Those under 21 are welcome.
