Mar. 6, 2019, 7pm to 8pm

Office/Remote Location

McMullan's Irish Pub - 4650 W. Tropicana Ave., #110

Alexis Billings, a postdoctoral researcher in the UNLV School of Life Sciences, will speak at an upcoming Science Café Las Vegas. Her talk is titled, "It's not what you said, but how you said it": Animal communication across sensory systems.

Ever wonder why birds sing the loudest at the crack of dawn or how your dog knows you pet another dog and seems jealous? Animals have incredibly complex communication systems that span sensory systems at sensitivities way beyond human perception. Billings will discuss how animals use different sensory systems to communicate, why they communicate and how these communication systems evolved.

Come join others for a lively science discussion, delicious food, and fun. Come at 6:30 p.m. to order your food and mingle. Those under 21 are welcome.
