School of Medicine Student Chair Massage
This event offers a convenient method of receiving massage therapy. Whether addressing physical, mental, and/or emotional stress, massage therapy assists people in improving their quality of life.
A chair massage session is performed with no oils or creams and requires little more preparation other than attending your appointment. Chair massage includes bodywork and somatic techniques, such as Shiatsu and Swedish massage, where the goal is to manipulate muscles with techniques that encourage relaxation or stimulation of muscle tissue, the sympathetic and parasympathetic autonomic nervous systems, and the mind. Make time to check in with yourself and your body. Weekly 15-minute sessions can keep you in touch.
